Here’s how you can prepare it.

Ingredients used:

  • 500g puff pastry;
  • 5 tablespoons sugar;
  • 3 tablespoons aronia jam;
  • 100g Philadelphia cream cheese;
  • 1 egg.

Steps required:

  1. Ensure the puff pastry is defrosted.
  2. In a bowl, combine the cream cheese, add 2 tablespoons of sugar, and mix well with a fork. Then place the filling in the refrigerator.
  3. Place the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Then cut it diagonally on the sides, as shown in the image below:aronia recipes
  4. Remove the filling and aronia jam from the refrigerator. First, place the cream cheese in the center of the pastry, and then add the aronia jam on top.
  5. Fold the side strips of pastry over, alternating from one side to the other, so that it looks like a braid at the end. Be careful to fold the ends so that the filling doesn’t leak out.
  6. Transfer the strudel to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Beat the egg and brush the strudel with it, then sprinkle with one tablespoon of sugar.
  8. Place the strudel in the oven preheated to 220 degrees Celsius and bake for 15-20 minutes (or follow the instructions on the puff pastry packaging).
  9. Surprise the whole family with a 10/10 dessert. 🙂

Tender Crescent Rolls with Aronia Jam

aronia recipes

They are tender, sweet, and melt in your mouth. This is how we can describe the aronia jam crescent rolls, which disappear quickly from the plate. They have a unique taste and are loved by any sweet tooth.

You can prepare them as follows.

Ingredients used:

  • 250g flour;
  • 125g sour cream (at least 20% fat);
  • 3 egg yolks;
  • 150g butter (at least 80% fat) or 100g lard;
  • Salt;
  • Vanilla extract;
  • 300g aronia jam OR 200g aronia jam and 100g walnuts;
  • 100g vanilla sugar.

Steps required:

  1. In a bowl, combine the cubed butter, egg yolks, a generous pinch of salt, sour cream, and vanilla extract. Add all the flour over them.
  2. Mix either with a mixer or by hand until the ingredients are combined. (Do not knead vigorously, as it will harden during baking.)
  3. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for an hour or even overnight. To cool it down faster, give it the flattest possible shape.
  4. For the filling, prepare the aronia jam. You can mix the jam with walnuts. (Ground walnuts absorb some moisture and prevent the jam from leaking out of the crescent rolls, while also adding a special flavor.)
  5. Remove the dough from the refrigerator and let it sit on the kitchen counter for 30 minutes. Divide it into 4 portions and, one by one, roll each portion into a very thin sheet.
  6. From each sheet, we get 8 crescent rolls. The dough should be as thin as possible. The circle should have a diameter of about 35 cm. With a knife, first cut in half, then into quarters, and then each quarter in half again. This gives us 8 triangles. Place the filling at one end and start rolling.
  7. Roll, making sure to pass the dough over the filling, then press the ends with your fingers so that it doesn’t leak out. Do the same in the front, then gently bend the ends and roll until a crescent roll is formed, pulling the ends forward.
  8. Place the crescent rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  9. Bake them in the preheated oven at 170°C for 15 minutes. (If you make them smaller, reduce the baking time. If you make them larger, increase the time slightly.)
  10. While they are baking, prepare a bowl with vanilla powdered sugar. As soon as you take them out of the oven, use a spatula to place them directly into the vanilla powdered sugar. (Do not let them cool at all. The cooler they get, the less the powdered sugar will stick to the outside.)
  11. Arrange the crescent rolls on a platter or, if you want to keep them for several days, put them in airtight containers.
  12. We have a delicious dessert that will bring a smile to any sweet tooth’s face.
