Colorful and energizing, aronia balls are as appetizing as they look. They are easy and relatively quick to prepare, and the result will catch the eye of any sweet tooth. Here’s how you can make them.

Ingredients:

  • 250-300g rolled oats
  • 200g pitted dates
  • 2 tablespoons shredded coconut
  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds
  • 1 tablespoon aronia powder
  • 1 tablespoon rum extract
  • 1 pinch of salt

Steps:

  1. Hydrate the dates in lukewarm water for 30 minutes. Then, strain them from the water they soaked in and keep the water in a bowl.
  2. Put the rolled oats in a blender and grind them. (Don’t over-grind them, as we aim for a firmer texture.)
  3. Remove the oats from the blender and put them in a bowl along with the chia seeds, coconut flakes, aronia powder, and salt.
  4. Put the dates in the blender and mix them until you get a paste. (You can add 2 tablespoons of the soaking water for better blending.)
  5. Add the resulting paste to the bowl with the oats and the rest of the ingredients.
  6. Add the rum extract and mix everything thoroughly with your hands. (The mixture should have a homogeneous and sticky texture.)
  7. Now, form balls of any size we want. They can be eaten plain or rolled in coconut flakes.
  8. Let the balls chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  9. Surprise your sweet-toothed loved ones with a unique and vitamin & mineral-rich dessert.
